Pokémon Rumble Rush

Can I play for free?

Downloading the app is free.
You should be able to have a lot of fun playing for free. However, through the App Store or Google Play, you can buy items like Poké Diamonds and sets that come with Convenient Features to help you in your progress through the game.

You will sometimes be able to get Poké Diamonds as you progress through the game.
When it comes to buying Poké Diamonds, we hope you will make use of them however you like.

What kind of game is Pokémon Rumble Rush?

You collect lots of Pokémon by exploring various islands.

Can I play Pokémon Rumble Rush offline?

This app is online only. Please play the game in a location with a good internet connection.

Can I play the game even if I don’t have a Nintendo Account?

Yes, you can play the game even if you don’t have a Nintendo Account.
However, you won't be able to use some features, such as data transfer.

Terminology

What is P?

You need P to upgrade power gears.
You can get it when you do things like refine ore or defeat Pokémon at the end of a stage.

Progressing through the game

Can I change my nickname and other info?

You can change your nickname, region, first Pokémon game you played, and other info. To do so, tap Menu, then Profile, then Edit, and then select the item you'd like to edit.

Please note: that even if you have linked your Nintendo Account, the setting for the country that you selected for your Nintendo Account is not reflected in this info.

I accidentally sent a Pokémon to the Adventurers Club.

You can't get back Pokémon that you've sent to the Adventurers Club.

You can avoid accidentally sending an important Pokémon that you don't want to send to the Adventurers Club by registering it as one of your favorites by tapping the star mark at the upper right of the Pokémon's details screen.

Are there Pokémon type matchups in this game?

Yes, there are type matchups based on those in the main series Pokémon video games. Damage dealt to the opponent changes based on move matchups, so you'll want to be aware of type matchups as you play through the game.

In Pokémon Rumble Rush, there is no such thing as moves having no effect, so you will still be able to deal a little damage even if a move has a bad matchup.

Is there a deadline for redeeming challenge rewards?

Yes, there is a redemption deadline.
You can't redeem rewards for which the deadline has passed, so please be aware of that.
The deadline is displayed on the right side of the Receive button for receiving rewards.

The reward redemption deadline differs depending on what kind of challenge it is.

I can't equip my Pokémon with a power gear.

You can only equip one to a Pokémon with a socket.
There are two kinds of gears, power gears and summon gears.
The kind of gear you can equip differs depending on the socket. Furthermore, power gears themselves are further subdivided into three kinds: stat power gears, style power gears, and Pokémon power gears. Stat power gears can be equipped to any power gear sockets, but style power gears and Pokémon power gears can only be equipped to their corresponding sockets. Try equipping a gear to its corresponding socket.

Do Pokémon evolve in this game?

No, the Pokémon that appear in Pokémon Rumble Rush can't evolve.

The effect of my Move Plus power gear isn't triggering.

The effect of the Move Plus power gear triggers when it is the same type as that of a move the Pokémon has, not the same type as the Pokémon to which it is equipped.
A Pokémon sometimes knows a move that is different than its own type, so please check the type of the move.

The Pokémon power gear doesn't seem to be working.

Pokémon power gears work when they are equipped to specific Pokémon. Please check that it's equipped to a Pokémon specified on the Pokémon power gear.

How can I get Upgrade Kits?

You can get Upgrade Kits when you get power gears or summon gears, and when you send power gears or summon gears to the Adventurers Club.

An Upgrade Kit can only be used to upgrade its corresponding kind of power gear.

When are the daily challenges swapped out?

They are swapped out every day at 06:00 (UTC).

My inventory for ore is full. Will I be able to receive new ore that I get at the end of a stage?

You can create space for new ore by receiving ore for which refining has completed, or by completing refining of ore you have using Poké Diamonds or Refining Ticket(s).

Paid items

Where I can see a history of the paid items I've bought to date?

You can't check purchase history within the app.
Please check your purchase history in the App Store or Google Play.

Can I return paid items I've bought?

As shown on the screen when you're purchasing paid items, returns can't be accommodated.

How do I purchase paid items?

You can purchase paid items from the area where a Poké Diamond is displayed at the top of the home screen, or by tapping Menu then Shop.
Please be aware that purchase methods will vary depending on the device you are using.

• App Store

You can pay using a payment method compatible with the App Store such as a credit card or an iTunes gift card.

• Google Play

You can pay using a payment method compatible with Google Play such as a credit card or a Google Play gift card.

Please contact either App Store or Google Play for inquiries about your payment settings.

The paid item I bought isn't showing up in the game.

It sometimes takes time for data to show up in the game, so please try the following:

  • Restart the Pokémon Rumble Rush app.
  • Restart your device.

How to restart or shut down your app or device will vary depending on the device you are using.
Try restarting in a location with a good internet signal.

Data and settings

Can I set up restrictions so my child can't spend money on their own?

You can't set up restrictions on spending money from within the app.

You will normally need an App Store or Google Play account to purchase paid items, so be careful with how you manage your ID and password.

If you have your account settings set up so that password input is skipped when purchasing, we recommend that you change them so that a password is required before purchases can be made.

Can I set up restrictions so my child can't transmit data on their own?

You can't set up restrictions on transmitting data from within the Pokémon Rumble Rush app.
Please be aware that if there are restrictions on transmitting data in the settings of the device you use, you may not be able to play the game normally.

Does this game have notification settings? I may want to turn notifications on or off.

You can set up Pokémon Rumble Rush so that you get a notification about when ore refining has completed.

Adjust your Pokémon Rumble Rush notification settings by following these steps:

  1. Launch Pokémon Rumble Rush.
  2. Tap the Menu button.
  3. In the Menu, tap Options then Game Settings.
  4. Tap Push Notifications On or Off.

It may also be necessary to modify the notification settings of your device to receive notifications from Pokémon Rumble Rush.

Can I transfer the data I've played with so far to a different device, after changing devices?

You can transfer your saved game data by linking your game data to your Nintendo Account.

You will need:

  • A Nintendo Account
  • The device from which you are transferring
  • The device to which you are transferring
  • A location with a good internet connection

Notes on data transfer

  1. If the OS differs between the device from which you are transferring and the device to which you are transferring, you'll be unable to transfer any Poké Diamonds or P (coins) that you had. For example, if you transferred from an iOS device to an Android device, you would be unable to transfer any Poké Diamonds or P (coins) you had on the iOS device.
  2. For info on Nintendo Accounts, see What is a Nintendo Account?
  3. Be careful of how you handle the info for your Nintendo Account
  4. Perform the transfer in an area with a good internet connection
I uninstalled the game without linking to my Nintendo Account, and I'm unable to transfer my game.

You can't restore your game data if you haven't linked it to your Nintendo Account.

Can I save the Pokémon Rumble Rush game data for multiple users on one device?

You can only create one set of game data per device.

Nintendo Account

What is a Nintendo Account?

It's an account you need when using various services offered by Nintendo such as My Nintendo. You can create one on the Nintendo homepage at https://accounts.nintendo.com.

You can play Pokémon Rumble Rush even if you don't have a Nintendo Account—but you won't be able to use some features such as data transfer.

We recommend linking Pokémon Rumble Rush to your Nintendo Account before playing the app in case of game data loss, such as your accidentally uninstalling the app.

What does linking my Nintendo Account allow me to do?

Linking Pokémon Rumble Rush to your Nintendo Account allows you to do the following:

  • Earn My Nintendo points and redeem them for rewards
  • Share one set of game data among multiple devices
  • Backup your game data
  • Have the Mii you've created and registered to your Nintendo Account possibly appear in Pokémon Rumble Rush

You can transfer your game data between different OS versions. However, if you transfer your game data to a different OS, you'll be unable to transfer any Poké Diamonds or P (coins) that you had.

Even in cases in which you've transferred your game data to a device with a different OS, and so became unable to use the Poké Diamonds and P (coins) you had, you can transfer your game data back to your original device and regain your lost Poké Diamonds and P (coins).

Your My Nintendo points are maintained even if you transfer game data between different OSes. However, you can't use My Nintendo points you earned with a different OS. Please be careful.

How can I link Pokémon Rumble Rush to my Nintendo Account?

You can perform the following in-game actions in Pokémon Rumble Rush to link to your Nintendo Account.

How to link to your Nintendo Account

  • If you haven't played Pokémon Rumble Rush at all
    When you start playing, select Link from the account management screen to link to your Nintendo Account.
  • If you're already playing Pokémon Rumble Rush
    Tap Menu, then Options, then Account and Game Data, and then Link with Nintendo Account.
I forgot my Nintendo Account password.

If you've forgotten your Nintendo Account password, you can reset it from Forgot your password? on the Nintendo site at https://accounts.nintendo.com/password/reset.

If it's a child account, the password can also be changed by a guardian.

Can I check which Nintendo Account I've linked to?

You are not able check which Nintendo Account is linked to the game from within the app.

Can I cancel my link to a Nintendo Account that I've already linked to, or switch to a different Nintendo Account?

You can't cancel your link to a Nintendo Account you've already linked to except by initializing your game data.

Can I start over after I've linked Pokémon Rumble Rush to my Nintendo Account?

You can play Pokémon Rumble Rush from the beginning by erasing your Pokémon Rumble Rush game data.

How to erase your game data

Tap through the following options: Menu > Options > Account and Game Data > Initialize Game Data

If you want to play Pokémon Rumble Rush again after deleting the app, you can reinstall it to start over from the beginning.
If you initialize your game data, you will lose all the Pokémon and items you had.
Be aware that you can't restore your data.

Can I use one set of Pokémon Rumble Rush game data with multiple Nintendo Accounts?

No, you can't.
Only one Nintendo Account can be linked to a set of Pokémon Rumble Rush game data.

Can I play Pokémon Rumble Rush if I don't agree to the use of my Nintendo Account info?

You can't use some features such as transfer data if you don't agree to the use of your Nintendo Account info.

What happens if I delete my Nintendo Account after linking my game to my Nintendo Account?

You will become unable to use your Pokémon Rumble Rush game data.
If you want to play Pokémon Rumble Rush again after deleting the app, you can reinstall it to start over from the beginning.

If you reopen your Nintendo Account within 30 days of deleting it and link it to your game, you will once again be able to use your Pokémon Rumble Rush data.

My Nintendo

What is My Nintendo?

It's a member service / loyalty program offered by Nintendo usable by registering your Nintendo Account.
Link Pokémon Rumble Rush to your Nintendo Account and you can get points by playing the game. You can exchange the points you collect for Pokémon Rumble Rush items and more.

How can I increase my My Nintendo points?

Your My Nintendo points go up as you clear My Nintendo missions.
You can check the content of My Nintendo missions using the following method.

Tap Menu, then Options, then My Nintendo, and then Missions
You can check how many My Nintendo points you have at the top of the Missions page.

In Pokémon Rumble Rush, the kind of points you earn are Platinum Points (Pokémon Rumble Rush). See the My Nintendo FAQ for details on rules for the points at https://my.nintendo.com.

How can I get rewards?

You can redeem points for rewards.

How to redeem points for rewards

Tap Menu, then Options, then My Nintendo, and then Rewards

Some rewards may have a set offering period or number of times you can redeem points for them. Please be careful.
Rewards you redeem points for are delivered to Presents, which are found within Menu.

I didn't get My Nintendo points even though I cleared a mission.

The following are some possible reasons why.

  • You haven't linked your Nintendo Account
  • You're checking a different Nintendo Account than the one you linked
  • You haven't met the conditions for clearing the mission, such as limitations on the number of times it could be done

Where can I check the My Nintendo points I've earned from missions?

You can check the My Nintendo points you've earned in Pokémon Rumble Rush by tapping through Menu > Options > My Nintendo > Missions.

Something might be wrong

Pokémon Rumble Rush won't start up.

Check the following:

Whether you're using a recommended OS

Pokémon Rumble Rush may not function normally on an non-recommended OS. And, depending on the device you're using, there may be cases in which it doesn't function normally even on a recommended OS.
Please understand that we can't guarantee performance on all devices.

Whether there is enough available space on your device

Aside from available space when downloading the app itself, you also need space for the game's save file. It's possible you don't have enough available space to create the save file, so try opening up some more space on your device and then relaunching the app.

Whether you're performing actions for which the maker of your device doesn’t guarantee performance

The app may not start up on devices on which you are running tools or specific operations for which the maker doesn't guarantee performance.

Whether there is free memory on your device

If you've launched multiple apps at once, try closing all of them and then relaunching the app.

Whether you're connected to the internet

Please play the game in a location with a good data connection.
If this is your first time launching it, check whether you can transmit data.

If you've checked the above and the app still won't launch, try restarting your device.

I'm unable to download Pokémon Rumble Rush.

Depending on your device's settings, there may be cases in which you can't download the app over an LTE or 3G connection.
We recommend using Wi-Fi when downloading.

And please be aware that you might not be able to download Pokémon Rumble Rush onto an incompatible device.

The app suddenly quit.

Check the following.

Whether the communication environment is stable

It's possible that your connection to the internet is unstable. Check your connection environment or try again later.

Whether there is free memory on your device

If you've launched multiple apps at once, try closing all of them and then relaunching Pokémon Rumble Rush. If you don't see improvement, try restarting your device.

If you try the above and still don't see improvement, then submit an inquiry from the issue reporting form.

The screen froze and I can't do anything.

Try relaunching the app. If that doesn't work, try restarting your device.

I'm unable to update Pokémon Rumble Rush to the latest version.

Please be aware that there may be cases in which it takes some time before you're able to update depending on your particular setup.

Operating procedures differ by device and version, so if there's something you're unclear on, please consult your device's manufacturer.

If you wait for some time and still aren't able to update, please check the following.

Try restarting your device.

Memory on your device

If there isn't much memory available on your device, please secure enough memory before using the app. And if you have multiple apps running at once, please close the apps running in the background.

Communication environment

Try changing to a location with a good connection to the internet, changing to a different network than the one you are trying now, or trying again later.

If you're using an iOS device

iOS10 or lower

  1. Launch the App Store app.
  2. Repeatedly tap (at least 10 times) the Search or Updates tab at the bottom of the store screen, until the screen refreshes.
  3. Tap the Update button for Pokémon Rumble Rush displayed in a list within the Update tab.

iOS 11 or later

  1. Launch the App Store app.
  2. Open the Updates tab at the bottom of the store screen, and pull the screen down to the bottom.
  3. Tap the Update button for Pokémon Rumble Rush displayed in a list within the Updates tab.

If you're using an Android device

Check that your download manager is enabled

  1. Open the Settings menu for your device, and select either Apps or App Manager.
  2. Swipe to display all apps, and then select the Download Manager app.
  3. If Enable is shown, the Download Manager is disabled. Tap Enable.

Clear Data and Clear Cache

Clear each type of info from the Download Manager app.
Clear Cache from the Settings of your device rather than clearing the cache within the app itself.
Note that Clear Data is not the same as deleting (uninstalling) the app itself.

  1. Tap Google Play Store within Apps.
